The town of Madrone was renamed Winslow in 1903, in honor of Mr. Winslow Hall, a founder of The Hall Brothers Shipbuilding Co. Winslow became the center of commerce on Bainbridge Island. Today, 100 years later, Madrone Village is in the very heart of historic Winslow with shopping, restaurants, theatre, the waterfront and fitness facilities all a short walk away.
